On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, with the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgeen A.Jameel, the president of the University of Zakho, the Mayor and Director of Zakho Municipality, vice presidents, and deans of the colleges and faculties, the final match of Kurdistan universities's Basketball Championship for boys took place between the University of Zakho and Dohuk University at Sport Hall at the University of Zakho.

The match was very competitive but the team of the University of Zakho could win against the team of Dohuk University, scoring (76-51), and took the title of the championship.
At the end of the match, appreciation letters and presents were gifted to the participated universities, supervisors, and the best players for their role in this cheerfull championship.
